Sammanfattning

In this case study we focus on local experiences that may be relevant for successful implementation of health promoting school programs. Data collection is qualitative with emphasis on focus group interviews. We find that good implementation can be described as continuous and recurrent efforts to examine the school’s needs, and to create and maintain commitment to the new work over time. Local conditions can be a strength in the work, provided they are articulated and put into a coherent context. To succeed with good implementation, we suggest that the emphasis is on a dynamic and relational process in which a formative process evaluation can be an important tool to create a health promoting school.
