Sammanfattning
A 69-year-old woman was admitted to the emergency unit due to respiratory distress. Initially the blood pressure was normal. However, it decreased concomitant with low saturation (70%), and it was decided to intubate her due to hypoxia. During intubation, she developed in-hospital cardiac arrest with pulseless electric activity as initial rhythm. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was initiated, but sufficient spontaneous circulation was not obtained. We successfully initiated extracorporeal life support, and the patient survived with a good outcome.
