Sammanfattning

In this article, the presence of Person-centred Care in Swedish media is investigated and compared with other concepts which emphasises the unique individual and a person’s position in contact with Health Care. One starting point is that people can be aware of societal issues through own experience, stories of others or through media. Another starting point is a link between issues that media pay attention to and issues that the public thinks are important societal issues. The results, based on the existence in the Media Archive / Retriever database, show that person-centred care occurs for the first time in 2009 and has subsequently increased in both press and Swedish web sites. The effects of media are not investigated but discussed.
