Sammanfattning
Working with home-based rehabilitation and multi-disciplinary work has been described as a positive experience for professionals. The purpose of this article is to illuminate and explore the experience of enablement in four different municipalities, with a specific focus on multidisciplinary work. Ten focus group discussions were executed with forty professionals from the municipalities. The data was analysed using grounded theory, as described by Charmaz. The analysis showed that professionals experienced enthusiasm for working in a multi-disciplinary setting. The results can be described by the two categories: “Meeting the older adults together”, and “Being proud of what we achieve together”. The professionals experienced that multi-disciplinary work implied that they provided better services, worked more efficiently and learned from each other. One way of understanding this enthusiasm is an experience of the development into more efficient professionals. An example of this is how they experienced that they managed to transfer their skills and knowledge to older adults who were not included in the everyday rehabilitation group. Finally, the work conditions provided opportunities to work according to their standard for work and confidence in their own abilities.
