Sammanfattning

MoBaTann registers primary teeth at the Department of Clinical Dentistry at the University of Bergen. MoBaTann is one of the subprojects in The Norwegian Mother and Child study (MoBa), which is one of the world´s largest prospective population-based cohort studies with a sample size in excess of 114 000 pregnancies. Questionnaires were being collected during pregnancy as well as post-partum annual surveys. Moreover, biological material such as blood tests, urine samples, and children´s primary teeth were also collected and analysed. The overall goal with the MoBa-study is to determine specific etiological hypotheses by investigating the correlation between exposure and disease, with the aim of prevention. For each primary tooth, three different observers registered different characteristics. Through the application of Cohen's Kappa coefficient (?) method for inter-rater agreement measurement, the correlation between reliability and validity was measured. As of June 2016, 28 912 primary teeth have been registered. Intra- and inter-observer variability, shows generally good to very good correlation. Results from analyzes of primary teeth can provide knowledge about causes of diseases or conditions, an impotant contribution to prevention now and in the future. MoBaTann Biobank is a valuable resource for the next 100 years!
