Verksamhetsbaserad HTA gör vården mer evidensbaserad. Det visar en genomgång av 85 HTA-rapporter med medicinska utvärderingar i Västra Götaland
Sammanfattning
This study aimed to assess actions taken after activity-based Health Technology Assessments (HTA) in Region Västra Götaland 2006-2015, and the current use of evaluated technologies. The HTA queries were posed by a wide range of specialties; 80 queries concerned introduction of technologies and five concerned disinvestment of technologies. Actions taken after the HTA were often poorly documented but interviews revealed that 22 out of 34 technologies found superior to the comparator were used in routine healthcare, and 11 in research. Two out of three technologies with inferior results were not used. Thirteen HTAs found no difference between the technology and the comparator. The confidence in the effect estimate in the remaining 35 HTAs was very low and thus too uncertain for any conclusions. Thirty-nine research projects were initiated. These results illustrate the value of activity-based HTAs for evidence-based health care, and that the chain of decision making needs improvement.
