Sammanfattning
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the use of Assessment of Communication and Interaction Skills (ACIS) in the context of teaching. The following research questions were formulated: How do students experience mapping their communication skills with ACIS? How can this connect to a future practice as occupational therapist? We conducted four focus group interviews with a total of 20 students, and a survey to explore these questions. Systematic text condensation was used for analysis. The results show that the use of ACIS is experienced positively. Mapping of communication skills raises awareness about how to act and improve these skills as a future professional. Sharing with others, and being part of a group process while doing this, can provide greater confidence in social skills and influence professional identity. A personal change can also affect future cooperative skills, and awareness of own communication skills is helpful when meeting challenges at a future demanding workplace.
