Sammanfattning
This study focuses on implementing electronic health records (CURA) in Esbjerg Municipality, Denmark. Implementation research shows that while there rarely is a gold standard for implementation, the study examines which facilitators and barriers have been central to the implementation. The project is an exploratory mixed-method study with sequential method integration. Based on factor analysis of the organizational readiness and cross-tabulation, the study finds a number of determinants of significance for the employees' participation in an organizational change. Analytically, both quantitative and qualitative data are included. The conclusion is that facilitators have more especially been the contextual, but also the procedural dimension: the collegial cooperation and collaboration with the system provider, the employees' general way of addressing change, their competence in using digital media, the presence of a support structure, the role of management and the e-learning program. The barriers particularly relate to the content dimension of the implementation: match of the system to the tasks, user-friendliness, transition time, compatibility, information, collaboration with other groups and the postponement.
