Sammanfattning

In this survey investigation we have asked 288 nursing teachers i 32 Norwegian nursing colleges concerning experienced work overload. This study is a follow-up study from 1988 and 1990. In all three studies we've focused on five areas: A) Heavy workload, B) The relationship between theory and practice, C) Low level of education among nursing teachers. D) Possibility of reaching goals and E) Frequent reforms. 43% of the teachers experienced their workloads as too heavy. Frequent reforms within the nursing college system appears to have an important influence on the experience of work overload. Nursing teachers feel they have good professional and personal supports in their colleagues, and the majority felt that work agendas took into account their personal wishes and needs.
