Akutte hjertepatienters oplevelse af telemedicin til praehospital ekg-diagnostik af ST-elevationsmyokardieinfarkt
Sammanfattning
Introduction: Most of the identified telemedicine research has had a technological focus. We found no published studies addressing the patient perspective in assessment of the use of telemedicine in diagnosing acute myocardial infarction (AMI). An evaluation of patient perceptions of telemedicine is needed, before the technology is introduced in routine care. Material and methods: The aim of this study was to identify which aspects of care patients with acute myocardial infarction give priority and assess as important during transportation to hospital in ambulances with access to telemedicine. A total of 30 patients consecutively selected from April 1, 2000 to September 15, 2000 were interviewed about their experiences regarding admittance to hospital. A semi-structured interview guide with 30 questions divided in eight main sections was used. Results: The patients assessed fast transportation and the professional and technical care as important. The use of telemedicine is well tolerated by the patients. They found it easy to cooperate and felt confidence in talking to the physician through headphones. Discussion: From a patient's point of view telemedicine for prehospital EKG-diagnosis of ST-elevation myocardial infarction is acceptable and feasible.
