The question of whether radio-frequency waves of the type originating from mobile phones can influence the human organism is controversial. The question of whether these waves can influence the blood-brain barrier has been investigated in several laboratories. The question has not been definitely answered, and the studies' results have been controversial. However, the most carefully controlled studies using the largest doses of radio frequency waves have so far shown negative results. The results from newer ongoing studies will be of great interest.
