Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is one of the most frequent causes of vertigo; it is due to calcium carbonate crystals (otoconia) present within the lumen of the semicircular canals. A case is described in which diagnosis and treatment was performed in a few minutes without any special equipment and thus could be done in the primary care clinic.
