Sammanfattning
Lyme borreliosis, caused by the spirochetes of the Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato group, is the most common vector-borne infection in Europe and the United States. This multisystemic infection, transmitted by ticks of the species Ixodes, may cause skin, neurological, cardiac and rheumatologic disorders. In this article we summarise the clinical and especially diagnostic and therapeutic aspects associated with Lyme borreliosis in Europe, and specifically in Denmark.
