Clinical-pharmacological drug information centres were established in Denmark six years ago. The aim of the services is to provide patient-oriented, evidence-based, non-commercial drug information to physicians. Questions forwarded to the drug information centre in southern Denmark from 1 June 1997 to 31 May 2003 are summarized. Among the 1,192 questions received, most concerned adverse drug reactions, therapy during pregnancy and drug interactions. The majority of questions were asked by physicians, and the most dominating specialities were general medicine, gynaecology and psychiatry. 44% of the questions were asked by women.
