Sammanfattning

A 52-year-old female with ulcerative colitis, subtotal colectomy and ileostomy developed clinical signs of peristomal pyoderma gangrenosum six months after ileostomy. Initial therapy with prednisone did not improve the ulcers. Intravenous infliximab, 5 mg/kg, was administered in weeks 0, 2 and 4. Within two weeks of the first infusion, the patient reported amelioration of the pain from the ulcers, and complete healing was observed within one month. Five weeks later, an ileoanal reservoir (J pouch) was made.
