This article describes the production of a Finish nursing theorist, Professor Katie Eriksson, about nursing, caring, and the science of nursing. It includes the period between 1979 and 1984. There is a focus on some of the central concepts of her philosophy of nursing and caring: tending, playing, and learning in the spirit of love, belief, and hope. This is what caring has to be. Health is another important concept in the production of Katie Eriksson as well as development of the specific body of knowledge about nursing and caring.
