Sammanfattning
Co-operation between primary and secondary health services in the West Jutland county of Ringkjøbing has engendered satisfactory conditions for cohesive treatment of sick children.
The co-operation involves sharing responsibility for the treatment of the child and the family, rehabilitation, prevention if disease and the promotion of health are shared across sector boun-daries. Children and their parents are actively involved in understanding the issue at hand.
The methods have included extended collaboration, co-ordination, networking and the training of professionals, i.e. doctors, nurses and health visitors. E.g. the methods "Marte meo" and "It's your choice."
This article describes proficient treatment of children and their families. We wish to emphasise the significance of well-established co-operation between the primary and secondary sectors, also within the new municipal structure soon to be implemented.
This can e.g. be established by the regions appointing "Regional health visitors" or "Regional nurses" to ensure professional development related to child health and to co-ordinate the efforts of the regional children's departments and municipal health schemes.
