Dödeligheden af brystkraeft i Köbenhavn efter indförelse af mammografiscreening - sekundaaerpublikation
Sammanfattning
Most studies of randomised controlled trials indicate that mammography screening leads to a reduction in breast cancer mortality for certain age groups. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect on breast cancer mortality during the first 10 years of the mammography screening programme in Copenhagen. We compared breast cancer mortality in Copenhagen in the screening period with a historical, a national, and a historical national control group. Breast cancer mortality in the screening period was reduced by 25% compared with what would be expected in the absence of screening.
