Sammanfattning
The article describes the Danish Quality Model (DDKM), which will apply to all health care staff at the nation's hospitals and selected local authorities/municipalities. The standards prepared and indicators related to the model will ensure that patients/users get co-ordinated, coherent and adequate examination, dia-gnostics, treatment, care and rehab, and that the safety and quality of the individual services in the course of treatment are improved. The standards are expected to come into force at hospitals in November 2007. It has not yet been determined exactly when local authority/municipal standards will come into effect. The article was written under the auspices of the Institute for Quality and Accreditation in the Health Service (IKAS).
