Sammanfattning

The objective of quality assessment is to ensure the high quality of all services delivered to individual patients. The focus is on the patient pathway, including aspects such as clinical performance, organisational issues and patients' perspective on performance. Traditional accreditation systems have focused on general patient pathways, organisation management quality and patients' perspective. Modern accreditation systems include disease-specific aspects of care, as they evaluate health care organisations' programmes for clinical guidelines, safety and performance measurement
