Sammanfattning
Spur is an interprofessional body with the mission to review the quality of individual residency training programs. This body reviews individual programs through a voluntary peer-review process. Reports from Spur have never been analyzed on an aggregated level.
With the ambition to detect trends and tendencies in the residency programs at the Karolinska University Hospital, all reports in Sweden between the years 1997 – 2008 were analyzed. The overall aim was to foster organizational learning and to put each individual report into a larger picture of how well Karolinska has been performing. One important methodological finding of this study is that there is no record of the number of providers of residency training on an annual basis in Sweden. The data in this study is hence raw data. As a result, in future the Karolinska will keep an accurate record of residency providers annually.
