Sammanfattning

During the past ten years the Swedish government has promoted gender mainstreaming of all higher educations. This paper presents how the task has been carried out at the Faculty of Health Sciences at Linköping University. The strategy used had four pillars; 1) map resources, 2) target goal documents and examinations, 3) educate teachers and core staff, 4) and evaluate the process. Furthermore, we suggest a document for gender mainstreaming, developed for the medical program at Linköping University, which can be revised to fit different professional educations at a medical faculty. After five years we conclude that gender and medicine is a growing field of knowledge, and that the integration process at our medical faculty is working, but at a slow speed.
