Sammanfattning
Emergency medicine has recently become a medical specialty in Sweden. The depth and breadth of the knowledge that a specialist in emergency medicine needs to master pose pedagogical challenges. The ability to act correctly under time pressure is central to emergency medicine. Constructive alignment is a pedagogical model that emphasizes the central role of learning activities that are clearly aligned with the learning objectives. Clinical practice under supervision and scenario training are two learning modalities that are consistent with constructive alignment. We recommend an integrated teaching model consisting of a broad palette of scenarios that complement clinical practice during residency.
