Sammanfattning

The aim of this systematic review was to outline the evidence concerning the effect of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) in the treatment of stress, depression and anxiety. There are only few studies of good quality published. In studies concerning treatment of stress in healthy subjects there is a moderate scientific support that MBSR gives a positive outcome. In patients with three or more previous depressive episodes there is a moderate scientific support that MBCT has an additive benefit to usual care. The small number of studies concerning mindfulness-based therapy for anxiety disorders do not permit any conclusions to be drawn. Further areas of investigation should focus on side-effects as well as follow-up over longer periods and the implication in health economics.
