Svenska barnvaccinationsprogrammet når även de utlandsfödda barnen - Serologiska stickprov
visar bra skydd jämfört med svenskföddas
Sammanfattning
Serological data from two samples of children aged 14-16 years born in Sweden and abroad, respectively, were compared with respect to levels of antibodies against the diseases that are included in the Swedish child immunization program. Children born abroad had significantly higher antibody levels against Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib), mumps, rubella, polio and hepatitis B while the opposite was true only for pertussis. The proportion of children with values above the reference levels for immunity was comparable for all diseases except Hib, polio type 3 and Hepatitis B, where those born abroad had higher values. Children born abroad who had been in Sweden for more than a year had higher antibody levels against diphtheria, tetanus and polio than those who had been here for a shorter time.
