Sammanfattning
We review the pathophysiology, clinical presentation and treatment of hereditary angioedema in Sweden, Denmark and Norway. Different treatments with C1-inhibitors, androgens, anti-fibrinolytics as well as bradykinin and kallikrein inhibitors are suggested and the mechanisms behind. We also describe the treatment of children as well as special aspects of treatment during pregnancy and lactation. An extensive analysis of the literature, with emphasis on international consensus reports, shows a huge number of recent scientific reports.
