Sammanfattning
A 37 year-old pregnant woman, gestational age 32 weeks, was involved in a motor vehicle accident. Abdominal ultrasound revealed no pathological findings, and the woman was discharged after 24 hours of observation. Three weeks later a healthy girl was delivered by emergency caesarean section due to placental abruption. During surgery a large amount of blood was detected and signs of previous trauma and haematoma to the spleen was revealed. Post-operative abdominal computed tomography scan was performed, revealing a 5 × 7 cm intrasplenic haematoma.
