Riskfaktorer för hjärt-kärlsjukdom. Resultat från Nationella diabetesregistret jämförs med internationella studier
Sammanfattning
Risk factors for cardiovascular disease. Results from the Swedish national diabetes register compared with international studies
Results according to recent studies from the Swedish national diabetes register (NDR):
Type 1 and type 2 diabetes: increasing risk for cardiovascular disease with higher HbA1c values, but no increased risk at lower HbA1c.
Type 2 diabetes: Considerably lower risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD) at blood pressure 130-135/75 mmHg compared with 140/80 mmHg or higher.
Ratio non-HDL-/HDL-cholesterol was a stronger risk factor for CVD than LDL-cholesterol, and lower levels of this ratio contributed to lower triglycerides and higher HDL-cholesterol values.
Two new risk engines for multifactorial risk assessment of the 5-year risk of CVD in type 1-diabetes and type 2-diabetes are presented.
