A cooperation project between the university and hospital that intended to assure the quality of
learning outcomes in nursing education, in acute and critical care specialist health services, by
testing an intervention based on the interaction of learning practical skills in both hospital and
practice department. The learning outcomes were defined in collaboration between teacher and tutor.
Weekly themes were prepared for the students. The research questions were: What characterizes an
environment that promotes learning outcomes of practical skills in nursing? The project was
evaluated in a focus group interview and analyzed by stepwise inductive-deductive method. Findings
were essentially that space and time, clarifying expectations, prepared knowledge and relevant
exercises promotes learning. The conclusion is that the interaction between college and professional
practice can promote learning by clarifying learning outcomes and arrangements for it to be
achieved.
