Sammanfattning
Through a phenomenological-hermeneutic theoretical approach data was collected using
multistaged focus group interviews. The study describes health carers' work engagement in working
with young adults with dual diagnosis. Kvale and Brinkmann (2009) four-step method identified three
main findings: 1) Having work engagement is important to do a good job, (2) Having hope affects work
engagement, and (3) Having good working conditions promote work engagement. The study
highlights the importance of flexible services where health carers feel that they are able to do a good
job and maintain work engagement. Hope is an important element in work engagement.
