Sammanfattning

There is an increasing interest for user’s involvement in decision making concerning health and social service interventions. Here, a theoretical model to work with such involvement is proposed. In this model, an intervention is selected, planned and implemented in dialogue between the user and the professional, where the two have different kinds of knowledge – experiential knowledge and professional knowledge – and where both types of knowledge is seen as important for the choice and implementation of an intervention. The model can be seen as deriving from the work on patient-centeredness and shared decision-making that is becoming increasingly common in health care.
