Kurset "Förstehjelp ved selvmordsfare" - Noe mer enn et förstehjelpskurs?
Sammanfattning
Approximately 550 Norwegians die in suicide every year. Many persons with thoughts of suicide are in
contact with Norwegian Welfare Authorities (NAV). The ASIST workshop can help to provide participants
with increased competence in identifying and helping persons with suicidal ideation. The study intends
to develop knowledge about the impact the workshop has had on NAV employees in meeting people
with suicidal ideation. Findings indicate that the training gives the informants an experience of improved
professional mastery, and better ability to take responsibility in these relations. They also feel more
competent in supporting these persons in a long-term perspective.
