Når terapeuten forlater kontoret. Erfaringer fra å drive psykisk helsearbeid ute i det fri
Sammanfattning
This paper deals with therapists’ experience of using nature as their stage for conducting group therapy.
Five experienced professionals in a wilderness therapy treatment program within specialized health
care are individually interviewed. The informants also have experience from ‘traditional’ outpatient treatment.
Important themes that emerge are (1) the therapists’ increased notion of being present in
nature, (2) an increased wholeness in treatment due to more time spent with the client, (3) the experience
of less control due to shifting conditions in nature and altered therapeutic prerequisites, and (4)
more roles and thus a deeper relation to the client.
