Sammanfattning

Our study aimed to reveal autotransplantation as a treatment option in cooperation between orthodontists and oral surgeons in Norway. A questionnaire sent to all members of Norwegian Association of Orthodontists and Norwegian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (in total 395 members) form the basis of this paper. The response rate was 29 % and 43 % respectively. Our results indicate that most orthodontists and oral surgeons did use autotransplantation as a treatment option for missing teeth. Our respondents conducted 237 autotransplantations during the year 2016 in Norway. In general, many oral surgeons accomplished autotransplantations. The highest proportion was near the dental schools in Oslo and Bergen. The challenges to come might be to offer the most successful treatment options for every patient missing teeth regardless of local habitat.
