Non-government organizations (NGOs) are an important part of civil society. Through a case study of the project Vändpunkt [The turning point] run by
Hassela Skåne, the article tells a story how vulnerability can be transformed into inclusion. Analysis of documents and interviews of members, volunteers and adolescents (n = 20) forms the basis for reporting a story of a project beneficial for all parties involved. Triangulation of different stakeholders revealed the ability of a NGO to facilitate the development. Through outreach activities, contact was made. In the project activities gave opportunities of personal development and responsibility for both young people as well as volunteers. Through the project, participants were able to develop the organization Ensamkommandes förbund [Confederation of Unaccompanied].
