Sammanfattning
Multiple idiopathic cervical root resorption (MICRR) is a specific type of external root resorption. The aim of the survey was to study the occurrence of MICRR at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Oslo, in the period 2005-2016. Examples of diagnosis, treatment and follow-up are also presented. A systematic search in the faculty`s electronic record system revealed 18 patients diagnosed with MICRR in the period 2005-2016. Case reports in the literature and the clinical experience at the Faculty of Dentistry indicate that MICRR is a progressive disease involving various clinical and radiological presentations with unknown aetiology. The treatment of this condition can be challenging for both the dentist and patient, and can vary in modality and duration.
