Sammanfattning
Official Church-documents dealing with the threatening climate change have been studied. Their thoughts on theology and ethics related to the climate
challenge have been studied as well as their views on how the churches could be involved in handling the threat of a changing climate. The Christian
belief is that nature is created by God and that man is created as an image of God. The consequence is that man has a responsibility to act as a co-creator
in the restauration of God´s creation. Ethically there is a firm expression that climate justice is essential in managing the global warming. The costs
for handling the climate changes must be shared in a just way as must the global resources. Practically, the churches would certainly be able to teach
people about the relationship between lifestyle and climate change. Likewise, the churches could support people to change their lifestyle and help
them to handle their worries for the coming changes of the climate. Finally, churches could help people to have hope and feel confidence for the future.
The church would most likely be a suitable partner to any organization that want to approach her for common actions for a sustainable future.
