Sammanfattning

Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) is a pervasive form of Violence against women (VAW) and acknowledged as a human rights and public health problem. Years of research have led to identification of individual and contextual drivers of VAW, including gender inequality. Considering that PhD theses form an integral aspect of knowledge production, the present study aims to provide a synthesis of PhD theses on IPV at Karolinska Institutet, Sweden, in order to identify potential directions for future research. Thirteen PhD theses published between 2004 and 2017 were identified. Through their wide range context and content, these theses provide a global insight on IPV. The need to expand on old research questions while addressing new and emerging ones are discussed.
