Sammanfattning
Jimson weed (Datura stramonium) is a plant of the nightshade family (Solananceae ). It contains the anticholinergic belladonna alkaloids hyoscyamine, scopolamine and atropine. Dried parts of the plant are used as a hallucinogenic drug, but their intake involves the risk of developing fatal poisoning: the anticholinergic syndrome. This case report presents a patient cointoxicated with jimson weed seeds and alcohol, taken with suicidal intent.
