Sammanfattning

This article describes the characteristics associated with the tasks of the clinical advisor and how he/she functions as an examiner and adjudicator during clinical examinations. Studies based on literature argue that substantial knowledge of the education and of the framework, objective, content and complaints procedures involved in clinical examinations is required, along with substantial pedagogical and technical nursing knowledge of both subject content and me-thods. The clinical advisor must adopt a variety of positions during the examination, and as an examiner must have the ability to be attentive during the exam. The clinical examination is a complex and context dependent situation, in which the clinical advisor must be aware of reflections on value and ethics that may be related to the welfare of the patient, as well as to the examination and the adjudication.
