It's really quite simple. It’s about investing in people. Norrköping Municipality
believes that early interventions are an important investment for the future.
With the social investment fund, the municipality hopes to see both economic
and human benefits. The purpose of the fund is to find preventive practices
that break negative development for the residents of Norrköping at an early
stage. Therefore, the starting point is to find the local residents who are more
at risk of being socially excluded and give them the help they need to avoid exclusion.
For the municipality, the economic benefits can involve reduced need
of resources, for example in fewer placements of children and young people.
The benefits for the individual human being include a future with education,
employment and self-sufficiency. A better life, basically.
