Sammanfattning
Skåne Regional Council takes an active part in the efforts for achieving health
equity and social sustainability. As a part of this work, Skåne Regional Council
has established a social investment fund aiming at better lives for children and
adolescents in Skåne, by focusing on the social determinants of health. This
work is in line with for example the intentions of the WHO European Health
Policy Framework Health 2020. In Sweden, social investment funds have previously
been established in the municipalities, why Skåne Regional Council, as
being the first region in Sweden doing this work, has had to find its own way.
This paper describes the ongoing process with and the experiences from the
work with the Skåne social investment fund.
