Kunskap och bedömningar i sjukskrivning: En vetenskapsteoretisk studie av det
försäkringsmedicinska beslutsstödet
Sammanfattning
We examined the process of developing of a medical insurance decision-making
support tool intended to ensure uniform assessment of sick leave. Interviewees
were medical experts engaged by The National Board of Health and
Welfare, and civil servants involved in the production of the decision-making
tool. The tool was developed with a strict template for its format that circumscribed
the sort of knowledge the experts could contribute. The template’s format
and content requirements were partly at odds with the medical experts’
descriptions of how doctors make assessments regarding sick leave and the
experts stressed that the tool must only be used in a consultative capacity, as
part of doctors’ assessments hinge on experience-based and cannot be included
in such general recommendations for sick-leave.
