At a knowledge centre in psychiatry we have for a long time given training to staff on cultural aspects of the patient encounter, based on a non-static vision of culture that builds on self-reflection and cultural responsiveness. As the cultural formulation interview, the CFI, in the DSM-5 is being introduced, we develop our training, especially directed to entire staff groups, with the aim of more persistent training results and of the cultural perspective coming to concrete use. We prepare the training more in depth with staff and build the course on their experiences of difficulties and needs. Interactive pedagogical forms are used. We are striving for interprofessional education where knowledge becomes rooted in team work.
