Sammanfattning
The annual child health centre report for Stockholm County is bases on population
data from more than 170 000 children 0-5 years. The report shows
an association between child health determinants with purchasing power at
municipal level. There was a positive correlation between the proportion of
children living in families with low purchasing power and the proportion of
newborns exposed to tobacco in their home environment (r=0.901, p<0.001)
as well as the proportion of three year old children with caries affected teeth
(r=0.910, p<0.001). There was a negative correlation between the proportion
of children from families with a low purchasing power and the proportion of
children who were exclusively breastfed at the age of 4 months (r=-0.804,
p<0.001). The results of the annual child health centre report emphasize the
importance of an equity perspective throughout the work with child health
preventive programmes for children already from birth.
