Sammanfattning
The Swedish Commission for Equity in Health presented its work in three
steps. First, a detailed review of how health inequalities are generated as
a result of unequal conditions and opportunities was presented. Second,
a new overarching objective, a new objective structure for monitoring and
follow-up and a new policy process was proposed. Third, specific proposals
that would contribute to more equity in conditions, opportunities and health
were put forward. This formed the basis for a Government Bill including a
new overarching objective and a new objective area structure, which was
passed by the Parliament on June 14th. Work for good and equitable health
has thereby been given a new structure, and is now pursued in a number of
contexts.
