Sammanfattning

This review describes feasibility and effects of mindfulness-based relapse prevention (MBRP), a program developed to reduce relapse in patients with substance use disorders. The program is recommended in treatment guidelines by the Norwegian Directorate of Health. Using database search, we found five randomized controlled MBRP trials published by August 2018. Each study reported changes in favor of MBRP compared to other interventions for one or more outcome variables: risk of relapse, substance use, craving, depression, anxiety, impulsivity and mindfulness. Feasibility of the program was good. We conclude that these findings are promising and support the use of MBRP in treatment of substance use disorders.
