Sammanfattning

It is well known that common mental disorders (CMDs) such as depression and anxiety are subjected to stigmatization and negative attitudes, both in the society and at work places. We know less about whether and how stigmatization affects the sick leave- and rehabilitation process. However, in several literature reviews, both stakeholders and researchers are urged to consider the importance of stigmatization towards these disorders also in these processes. This is because stigmatization and negative attitudes can hamper for example access to work adjustments and return-to-work processes. Based in literature and research, this article outlines the area of stigmatization and CMDs confined to the context of the sick leave- and rehabilitation process.
