Sammanfattning

A series of nationally representative health interview surveys was launched in Denmark in 1986. Interviews with a random sample of the adult population are carried out approximately every five to six years. The interviews include core elements that are repeated in every survey as well as special elements reflecting current public health issues and special research needs. In the future the questionnaires will have to be changed in order to facilitate the collection of comparable survey data in all the EU member states. Increasing rates of non-response and increasing costs of data collection present challenges for methodological development.
