Sammanfattning
Post-migration stress can be reduced and prevented, but not traumatic life events of new arrivals. Empowerment and influence show to be strongly linked to health and it is therefore important to increase health knowledge on form and content. The purpose of the study was to study how newly arrived women with children assessed their health before and immediately after the circle meeting. It was mixed method but emphasis on qualitative design. Contact women coordinated the group meetings and teachers were representatives of healthcare, social services and police. Interpreter was in the room. The needs-driven group meetings provided the participants with empowerment, health-promoting knowledge and tools to cope with stress / anxiety, based on their needs that were mapped before, but they did not primarily experience mental illness. Globalization at home is the key to increasing the health knowledge of newly arrived women with children in order to achieve sustainability goals and equal conditions for health that is a human right.
